Each year during the 11 days of Fiesta approximately 75,000 volunteers representing some 100 nonprofit organizations produce more than 100 events. The resulting economic impact to San Antonio exceeds $284 million annually, and we can’t begin to calculate the benefits to our city as a whole.
In 1992 a program was begun to recognize the vision and determination of these volunteers for their endless energy and creative resources. The group is the Order of The Cascarón. Through an annual nomination and selection process new volunteers are recognized for their outstanding efforts. It is the exceptional contributions of the Order of the Cascarón members that have helped to make Fiesta a truly unique festival.
