A major Fiesta corporate sponsor’s charity shoe drive is to benefit from an event at Ingram Park Mall Saturday sponsored by the Journeys store chain.

The Journeys Backyard Barbecue national tour is making a stop at the mall to serve up a heaping helping of top action sports with a side dish of cutting-edge music.

At the Converse “Punk Your Chucks” tent, fans can use Sharpie pens to create their own original artistic designs on a pair of classic Converse Chuck Taylor high-tops. The winning shoe from each tour stop will be entered into a contest. The overall winning design may become a production shoe for Converse and be sold at retailers worldwide.

The 250 pairs of non-winning shoes will be donated to Capital One Bank, the official bank of Fiesta, through the Fiesta San Antonio Commission.

The bank collects new shoes for donation to local charities.

Also on the Journeys Backyard Barbecue menu Saturday:
