The Fiesta San Antonio Commission revealed the official Fiesta 2008 poster Feb. 12 in a ceremony at Historic Sunset Station.

More than 500 Fiesta Commission members and other guests attended the official opening event of the Fiesta season. Capital One Bank, the official bank of Fiesta, underwrote the party.
Poster artist Cecilia Paz Mujica and Fiesta Commission President John Steen unveiled the poster, assisted by City Councilwoman Mary Alice Cisneros.
Mujica, a 25-year-old Houston native, said she had entered the commission’s poster contest twice before submitting her winning entry in August.
The poster, Serenata San Antonio, features colorfully clad mariachi musicians performing in front of The Alamo and the Tower of the Americas. A Texas flag flies in the background.
This was the first time individual and business members of the Fiesta Commission had been invited to the annual unveiling as an extra benefit of their membership.
The guests mingled with official Fiesta royalty, heard about three new Fiesta events and enjoyed the music of Hot Sauce during the evening.
They were also the first San Antonio residents to be able to purchase official Fiesta 2008 merchandise at a mini store in the Sunset Station Depot.
