Support Fiesta's ballet company Sept. 25 at 'Fame' premier

The Sept. 25 film premiere of Fame at the Palladium Theatre will benefit the San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet, a Fiesta participating member performing arts organization that nurtures and showcases area youth.

The event is set for Sept. 25 at Santikos’ theatre at The Rim, IH 10 West at La Cantera.

A red carpet opening at 6:45 p.m. will precede the film, which begins at 7:30 p.m.

Audience members can bid on Silent auction items that are to include autographed posters by the Fame cast, James Avery jewelry, gift certificates to Boudro’s, Chuy’s, Koi Kawa Sushi Bar, and Panchito’s on McCullough, and a Mack Brown-signed UT football.

Tickets, which include pre-show appetizers from Maggiano’s, Red Robin, Mimi’s Café and Great Harvest Cafe, are $18 for students and $25 for general admission. Tickets are available on line at www.sametballet.org. Seating is limited; Purchase your tickets early.

The film premiere will help fund the ballet company’s performances of the full-length ballet Cinderella Oct. 30 and 31 at the Municipal Auditorium. Melody Herrera and Ian Casady, principal dancers with the Houston Ballet, will perform the roles of Cinderella and the Prince. Dancers from SA Met Ballet and more than 50 extras will round out the roles.
