What is the Fiesta Commission?

The commission is an independent nonprofit umbrella organization that works with the more than 100 local nonprofits who organize the individual Official Fiesta events. The commission works year-round to manage the thousands of details and day-to-day tasks essential to planning and executing Fiesta San Antonio. The organization itself is funded entirely by the private sector. The Commission is led by a volunteer board and small full-time staff of eight.

What is a PMO?

PMO stands for Participating Member Organization (PMO). PMOs are nonprofits that organize Official Fiesta events and are represented at our monthly business meetings.

How does my organization become a PMO and have an Official Fiesta Event?

Thank you for asking about becoming an official Fiesta® event!

In a nutshell, your organization must be a local, nonprofit organization whose volunteer membership is responsible for the planning, organization, supervision, control, and execution of the event at all levels. You will need to become a nonprofit member of the Fiesta Commission and submit your completed application with required documents no later than November 1 for approval as an official Fiesta event after the following year’s Fiesta.

To become a non-profit member, please complete our New Member Application.
