Ford Mariachi Festival – San Antonio Paseo del Rio Association

For the safety of the participants and their musical instruments during the 4-day festival, Paseo del Rio Association will determine each day of the event at 3pm if the event will take place for that evening. Please check www.TheSanAntonioRiverWalk.com starting at 3pm for the status of the event. The status of the event including the kick-off will be determined on a day-by-day basis and will not be rescheduled, if cancelled on a specific day.

On the first night of the event only, April 19 the event will begin at 6pm for a kick-off ceremony at the Rivercenter Lagoon. It will include the premier mariachi band of all time, Campanas de America, under the direction of two-time Grammy Award winner, Juan Ortiz. Additional top Latin entertainers to perform include Grammy Award winning Little Joe Hernandez, and 13-year old sensation Isabelle Marie Sanchez. Participating school mariachi groups will also perform during the kick-off.

Local middle and high school Mariachi students perform on floating barges entertaining visitors to the River Walk. The festival provides student musicians an opportunity to gain experience entertaining before large crowds in a festive environment.

The Paseo del Rio Association is a nonprofit membership basis organization dedicated to promote, protect, and preserve the San Antonio River Walk.

Admission is free. Use VIA Park & Ride or park for free at Downtown City Parking Lots on Tuesday only!
